After a couple of days of writing more articles and submitting them to the article directories, I am pretty satisfied with my link building mini-net and I am finally ready to focus more on the PPC side of things and start building my pay per click campaign. I have now had my copy of PPC Kahuna scanning my keywords for more than 10 days, so I now should have some reasonable data I can analyze.

To prepare for this, I need to install three things. Prosper202, which is free script for tracking PPC campaigns. BlitzLP, which is a PPC Kahuna script which will allow me to create custom landing pages based on my keywords and adgroups. And finally Adwords Editor which is a free desktop tool from Google to help me upload my campaign to my Adwords account. Installation for each is pretty simple, although I had to setup a new domain to host both Prosper202 and BlitzLP.

Now, I’m ready to use PPC Kahuna to find my profitable keywords. PPC Kahuna makes this easy to do with its filtering capabilities. I have 10 days worth of data, so I set the program to filter out advertisers that were seen less than 7 days for a keyword and ads that were shown less than 85% of the time. That is we want the ads that were show the most frequently and consistently. I can then export these keywords and start creating adgroups out of them.

I am also interested in looking at the ad copy being used by affiliates, because they are the likely the ones that are promoting the same product as me. PPC Kahuna is actually smart enough to figure out and has a filter for this as well. I then make note of and record the ad copy that these advertisers are using to give myself an idea of how to structure my own ads.

Reviewing the best Ad Copy

To test my offer, I’m following the advice to make my first landing page just an iFrame of the offer. Google doesn’t like this for the long term, but it is helpful in the short term to see if my offer converts and to filter out any unprofitable keywords. This is where the PPC Kahuna Blitz LP script comes in. All I need to do is add in my adgroup keywords, and use an iFrame template.

Next, I go into Prosper202 to track my landing page and ads and get my tracking links and landing page code to add into BlitzLP. Finally I enter in my Adwords campaign details into the BlitzPPC tool which will export this data into a format I can put into the Adwords Editor. After setting a few things in the Adwords Editor, all I need to do is hit ‘Post Changes’ button and my campaign uploaded to Adwords.

My campaign is now live! After a day or so, I will start implementing some of the bidding and other strategies mentioned in the last couple days of the training. Check back soon to see my results…
