My Clickbank Earnings
Sorry I haven’t posted for awhile. I launched my PPC campaign about a month ago and I wanted to run my campaign for awhile to get some worthwhile results to show. I’ve been running my campaign for a month now and here are my Clickbank results. As you can see, the product I am promoting is giving me about $66 per sale. The first week was great, as I made my first 3 sales. I’m not sure what happened on the second week, but I seem to be averaging 2 to 3 sales per week for the past two weeks. Overall for my first campaign, I’ve made $691.80 in revenue and spent $309.10 on Google Adwords. That’s 123% return on my money, not bad! I can’t wait to get my first check.
I’ve followed most of the PPC bidding and campaign optimization strategies from the last few lessons of the PPC Kahuna 14 Day Challenge. Over the course of the month, I’ve been testing and getting rid of my keywords, and my keyword list has been whittled down to just three keywords that are actually making me money. I also set up a permanent landing page instead of my iFrame one after the first two days, and I have been split testing a couple of different landing page styles to see which converts the best.
I think where I have the most room to grow for my site is on the SEO side of things. When I first got indexed in Google after the first week, I found my site on the 4th page of the results. I checked back two weeks later, and I saw my site at bottom of the 2nd page. Just this morning, I checked again and saw my site on the top of the 2nd page. Checking my Google Analytics stats, I am only getting a smattering of visitors from Google, but I think once I reach the first page, I should start seeing more traffic. My plan is to submit a few articles I just wrote up to the article directories and create accounts and add content to a couple of other Web 2.0 sites. Hopefully that will give me the boost to get into page one. Plus, as my domain ages, I should also get more authority. Once that happens, I think I will be able to add a couple more sales a week of my product.
All in all, I’m quite excited by what I have learned so far in the PPC Kahuna 14 Day Challenge. It is quite exciting to finally have launched my first profitable PPC campaign. My next step I think, is to take what I learned and replicate my success for another niche. This time, I think I am going to use the product from the PPC Kahuna Affiliate Blueprint series. I took a look at this month’s blueprint, and it contains almost all the research necessary to do well with that niche. Of course, I will be competing with other PPC Kahuna members, but I am up for the challenge. =)
I hope you got something out of my review of the PPC Kahuna 14 Day Challenge. It’s just my own personal experience, but I think if you are willing to put in the effort, you will be able to have success too. If you are thinking of joining PPC Kahuna, I would appreciate it if you would join through my affiliate link. The more the PPC Kahuna community grows, the more benefit I will get from it as well. Remember, there is a 30 Day No Questions Asked Refund Policy, so there is really no risk to you to see what PPC Kahuna is all about.

April 8th, 2009 — 14 day challenge
After a couple of days of writing more articles and submitting them to the article directories, I am pretty satisfied with my link building mini-net and I am finally ready to focus more on the PPC side of things and start building my pay per click campaign. I have now had my copy of PPC Kahuna scanning my keywords for more than 10 days, so I now should have some reasonable data I can analyze.
To prepare for this, I need to install three things. Prosper202, which is free script for tracking PPC campaigns. BlitzLP, which is a PPC Kahuna script which will allow me to create custom landing pages based on my keywords and adgroups. And finally Adwords Editor which is a free desktop tool from Google to help me upload my campaign to my Adwords account. Installation for each is pretty simple, although I had to setup a new domain to host both Prosper202 and BlitzLP.
Now, I’m ready to use PPC Kahuna to find my profitable keywords. PPC Kahuna makes this easy to do with its filtering capabilities. I have 10 days worth of data, so I set the program to filter out advertisers that were seen less than 7 days for a keyword and ads that were shown less than 85% of the time. That is we want the ads that were show the most frequently and consistently. I can then export these keywords and start creating adgroups out of them.
I am also interested in looking at the ad copy being used by affiliates, because they are the likely the ones that are promoting the same product as me. PPC Kahuna is actually smart enough to figure out and has a filter for this as well. I then make note of and record the ad copy that these advertisers are using to give myself an idea of how to structure my own ads.

Reviewing the best Ad Copy
To test my offer, I’m following the advice to make my first landing page just an iFrame of the offer. Google doesn’t like this for the long term, but it is helpful in the short term to see if my offer converts and to filter out any unprofitable keywords. This is where the PPC Kahuna Blitz LP script comes in. All I need to do is add in my adgroup keywords, and use an iFrame template.
Next, I go into Prosper202 to track my landing page and ads and get my tracking links and landing page code to add into BlitzLP. Finally I enter in my Adwords campaign details into the BlitzPPC tool which will export this data into a format I can put into the Adwords Editor. After setting a few things in the Adwords Editor, all I need to do is hit ‘Post Changes’ button and my campaign uploaded to Adwords.
My campaign is now live! After a day or so, I will start implementing some of the bidding and other strategies mentioned in the last couple days of the training. Check back soon to see my results…
April 6th, 2009 — 14 day challenge
One thing I’m really liking about the PPC Kahuna course so far, is the emphasis on SEO side of things. As a newbie to PPC, I really hadn’t realized how important this part was, and I think it’s been a big reason why I’ve failed in all of my previous attempts. I had always been trying to put up a simple landing page without including other content, and Adwords was continually giving me poor quality scores. Now I know better. =)
The reason I bring this up, is because the past few days lessons are focused on building my own Mini-Net, which is basically a set of different sites that link back to my pre-sell page. Although I was already aware of the basic technique, Jason really shows how to take this Mini-Net technique to the next level. The first step, is to create accounts and add content to Web 2.0 sites like Squidoo, Hubpages, Weebly, etc. Each site would include a link back to my pre-sales page. Most of these sites have high authority so links from them will help quite a bit. There are a bunch of these types of Web 2.0 sites listed in the resources so I can expand my net as big as I want. I started off by posting the 5 shorter articles I had just written to five of these sites. It took me about an hour to complete the whole process and get all my content published.
Where things get really interesting is how Jason expands his net. The second step is to take advantage of RSS aggregators. From each of my Web 2.0 properties, I can grab their RSS feed from the page and combine all the feeds together with a RSS aggregator. The RSS aggregator will then publish this combined feed as its own public page. There are several of these free services list in the notes to submit to, and this results in an extra layer of links back to my product page, and the Web 2.0 properties themselves. Doing this helps raise the authority of the Web 2.0 sites, and subsequently increases the link juice back to my page.
Finally, the last step is to take advantage of article marketing. By submitting even articles to popular article directories like EzineArticles, you can use the links in your articles to point to both your presell page, and your Web 2.0 sites, further increasing their authority. By repeating this process for all the keywords I singled out in the previous lesson, I should have my site ranking high in the SERPS for all my important keywords.
This is a totally impressive strategy, but I think this is probably where most people are going to fail. I have a feeling, that most internet marketers are lazy, and few will take the time to implement this. I am currently finished with the Web 2.0 part of the strategy, so my goal is to complete submitting my feeds and articles over the next few days. I took a sneak peak at what’s ahead, and I think I will be ready to launch my PPC Campaign soon. Can’t wait!
